Conference Synopsis

  

 This is a practical and interactive 1 day extensive workshop which will focus on building resilience in the running population. You will gain knowledge in the basic fundamentals of a running program, gait analysis, understand the importance of mobility and how to stay on top of your game. As a participant you will gain practical clinical assessment knowledge of running mechanics and rehabilitation technique's to correct common dysfunctions and injuries related to the running athlete. Emphasis will be placed on running anatomy and the mechanical dysfunctions of the Upper/Lower body. This workshop will also include an interactive hot seat panel focused on running through the eyes of the runner, athlete and the health professional.

 Running 101 - Gait Analysis, Upper/Lower Body Manual Techniques

 

  • Running 101 - understanding the basic fundamentals of a running program and the preparation required to reach the finish line.

  • Gait Analysis simplified (running and walking)

  • Anatomy of Running and the functional assessment/rehabilitation techniques for the Lower Body.

  • Peer Assessments of the Lower Body. Understanding the essentials of Repetitive Strain/Overuse Injuries in runners for the Lower Body. (Practical Component learning soft tissue release techniques.)

 

LUNCH

 

  • How to be on top of your game and one step ahead of the training program.

  • How to adapt to your on-field vs. clinic treatments rehab as well as various levels of the Athletes.

  • The importance of mobility

  • Anatomy of Running and the functional assessment/rehabilitation techniques of the Upper Body.

  • Peer Assessment of the Lower Body (Practical Component)Understanding the essential of Repetitive Strain/Overuse Injuries in runners for the Lower Body.

  •  How to incorporate your tool belt (skill set) into the running program

 

There will be a chance for Q&A with our presenters after each portion of the workshop.

                 AGM will be at the end of the conference.
